KRIKKE MOTORSPORT RETURNS TO VICTORY LANE
THE Krikke Motorsport team and their driver Dayne Kingshott couldn’t have asked for a better performance during last Saturday night’s latest Maddington Toyota Sprintcar Series round at the Perth Motorplex, which saw them not only pick up their third feature-race victory of the 2023-24 season but consolidate their Maddington Toyota Series point standings lead.
With last Saturday night’s 14th Maddington Toyota Series round doubling as the annual Legends of Speedway event, the Krikke Motorsport team brought out their tribute colour scheme to the 1985 Australian Sprintcar Championship winning WA # 99 car driven by Ron Krikke to celebrate the occasion, and they were able to celebrate it in the best possible fashion by winning their third feature-race victory of their 2023-24 season campaign.
After starting from position three in the feature race, the WX # 99 Mobil 1 / Bunbury Toyota supported maxim pilot was a winning mood and the team ended up supplying him with the car to get the job done. Kingshott had taken the lead on lap 10 away from Callum Williamson and he was never headed from that moment on through to the fall of the chequered flag.
“The team did a fantastic job on the car all night and supplied me with a rocket ship for the feature race and I made the most of it and managed to get the win, and I can’t thank them enough for all they do for me,” expressed Kingshott, who had earlier in the night qualified third in his time trial group and second in his heat race.
“Callum (Williamson) has been one of the form drivers so far this season at the Perth Motorplex, so any time that you can drive by him, you know you have something good going. It’s a great feeling to get back into victory lane and hopefully we can be up there again and challenge for a few more wins before the season ends.”
Krikke Motorsport team manager Ryan Krikke was equally thrilled to have Kingshott back in victory lane.
“Dayne and the team did a great job, and it was awesome to get that winning feeling back,” he said.
“It’s been quite hard for the team to maintain confidence after racing against who we’ve had to race against since Christmas, but the boys have been working so hard and they have been rewarded for it with this latest win.”
Last Saturday night’s win now adds to the Krikke Motorsport team’s previous two wins – Maddington Toyota Series rounds one and three – from earlier this season.
The Maddington Toyota Series continues with this Saturday night’s 15th round back at the Perth Motorplex, and once again, the Krikke Motorsport team’s goal will be to consolidate their current point standings lead in the Maddington Toyota Series.
