KRIKKE MOTORSPORT’S OH, WHAT A FEELING!
THE 2023-24 season concluded on Saturday night at the Perth Motorplex for the Krikke Motorsport team and their driver Dayne Kingshott, and they were able to finish it in the best possible fashion by wrapping up the Maddington Toyota Sprintcar Series crown.
Kingshott, aboard the WA # 2 Mobil 1 / Bunbury Toyota supported Maxim, was a model of consistency throughout the season and it rewarded the Krikke Motorsport team with their very first Maddington Toyota Series point standings victory. Throughout the Maddington Toyota Series, the duo picked up a total of four feature race wins, along with four minor podium finishes during the season, which included a second-place finish in last Saturday night’s Grand Final that sealed their Maddington Toyota Series winning fate.
In what was their fourth season together, the Krikke Motorsport team and Kingshott had in their three previous Maddington Toyota Series attempt finished second, third and fourth in the final point standings, but their 2023-24 season campaign resulted in it being a case of fourth time lucky.
“The goal at the beginning of the season was to contend for the Maddington Toyota Series, so to come away with a total of four round wins during the season on our way to taking out the series crown was a wonderful feeling,” expressed Kingshott.
“Since teaming up four seasons ago, we have been in contention for the Maddington Toyota Series, but we had for one reason or another fallen short; however, for this season, we improved our consistency during the season out on the track, where we picked up more wins and we were able to salvage something from our challenging nights, and that was one of the keys to this season’s Maddington Toyota Series crown.
“Another highlight to come out of this season’s campaign was being able to deliver the Krikke Motorsport team their very first Maddington Toyota Series win. Up until four seasons ago, the Krikke Motorsport had never contested a full season in Western Australia, so it’s a massive honour to be able to give them a Maddington Toyota Series crown to add to their long list of achievements over the years, such as World Series Championships, Australian Championships and a Grand Annual Classic.”
As one would expect, Krikke Motorsport team manager Ryan Krikke was thrilled to have Kingshott capture their Maddington Toyota Series point standings after a pleasing season.
“I’m very proud of what the Krikke Motorsport team achieved throughout the season and naturally the highlight was being able to come away with the Maddington Toyota Series crown,” he said.
“It’s been a big season for the whole team and Dayne has really matured as a driver this season, and this has been evident with the success we have been able to enjoy together during the season. None of this would have been possible without the outstanding work from the whole team, as they have gone above and beyond this season and it’s fantastic that they have been rewarded for all their efforts with capping the season by winning the Maddington Toyota Series.”
Apart from take out this season’s $24,000 to win Maddington Toyota Series, the Krikke Motorsport team and Kingshott have picked up their second Perth Motorplex 410 Sprintcar Track Championship win in three seasons and ran second in the Triple Crown Series.
Final Maddington Toyota Series Point Standings:
1 Dayne Kingshott – 2820 points
2 James Inglis – 2754
3 Brad Maiolo – 2650
4 Jamie Maiolo – 2584
5 Kaiden Manders – 2574
